T-minus 2 days!

It's t-minus two days until take off! First to Munich and then Rome. I'm awful at packing, so I'm trying to take the sage advice of RealSimple. I'm failing miserably.

Also, who told Rome to be hotter than Southern California? On no level is that ok. Particularly the level where a/c doesn't exist. Basically, it is the seventh circle of hell, but with fantastic wine, food, and limoncello, and GELATO! My kind of hell. Italian hell. I'll take it. I wonder if it is what Dante imagined, somehow I'm disinclined to believe that.

Anyway, yay flying time! Not so yay on the packing. I hate packing like the reemergence of the Black Plague. I also try to delude myself about the need for packing in the same way that medieval citizens used fresh flowers to hide the dead-bodies smells - I clean my closet and fold piles of clothes. It looks neat and tidy, but does not constitute actual packing. The French call this phenomenon a "trompe l'oeil."

And all of that reminded me that I have failed to pack my travel yoga mat. UGH. Back to square one. If Italy in the summer is the seventh circle of hell, packing is the ninth. It's right up there with axe murderers.
