Off we go, into the wild blue yonder....

So here we are, about 5 minutes until my flight starts boarding. Despite the adventures (and misadventures) of packing yesterday, all's well that ends well. And believe me, ending with a flight to see one of my best friends in the entire world is ending very well.

I will note that as I write this, I'm sitting on the cold, shiny, unreasonably hard concrete/linoleum situation that is covering the floor of the LAX United terminal. Aside from being truly hideous, this terminal is sorely in need of additional seating. Though, that could probably be solved by not having the flights to NYC and Chicago board RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER AT THE SAME TIME (and in the area with the least seating). Maybe they could switch one out with the lovely seating area that accompanies all the San Diego and Santa Barbara flights across the hall. Just a thought, LAX. Y'know, efficiency. It's ok, I don't blame you, airports are inherently inefficient; hence why nearly every flight I've ever connected to through Chicago has been at least 45 minutes late.

Anyway, made my last calls to family, and this will have to serve as my farewell to friends (albeit a temporary farewell). I love you all, and will reemerge from the internets and reenter the world of the living after I touch down in Seattle. (If you know me, you know all too well that I suck at calling people, so they likely won't hear from me until I'm back in the US)

With all that said, arrivederci, mi amici!!!
